Before The Appointment

  • Do Your Research
  • Be in Good Health
  • Take Nothing Blood Thinning
  • Plan Ahead – No Beach Vacations Near the Appointment
  • Pay Deposit

Before coming in for your appointment, you have most likely done some research (If you haven’t, we recommend you do! Check out this blog for more info!) With that, you have decided what company to go with (we hope you choose us!). Doing research prior to your appointment is so important. There are alot of people out there doing eyebrow microblading, but not all of them do it well or correctly. Choose a company that is reputable and uses high quality products. Look at before and after photos as well as healed work. This is very important. You want to know what the work looks like after it has healed. To look at our photos, you can check out our instagram.

Be sure that you’re in good health. Why is this important, you may ask? It is important because we are creating tiny strokes that will penetrate under the first layer of skin and if you are not in good health, it is more likely to become infected or heal incorrectly. We suggest taking an iron supplement a few days prior to your appointment if you feel that you could be anemic. Anemia can cause the pigment to fade faster. If you already struggle to heal well with other circumstances, this procedure is not for you.

Do you suffer with acne? If you use medicated face washes for that, you will want to stop a few days prior to the appointment. They are typically blood thinning and you want to avoid bleeding during eyebrow microblading. We also ask that you don’t take any pain medications the day before or the day of the appointment. This is also a blood thinner. Caffeine falls in the same category. For our coffee drinkers out there; skip the cup the morning of your procedure. Caffeine is also a stimulant which will make you more sensitive. Click HERE for a list of other blood thinning foods.

Plan ahead. If you are planning on going on a vacation where you will be getting in water or laying out in the sun, you want to be sure that it is not near your eyebrow microblading appointment. You have to be atleast 2 weeks healed to submerge in water. If you JUST got back from a vacation, we will be checking to see if there is any sun burn near or on the brows. We want the skin to be in prime condition. No damage to the skin will be accepted including sun burning, acne in the brow, excema in the brow, botox done recently near the brows, etc.

There is a $50 deposit that is required if you decide to have your brows done by DFW Microblading. This goes towards your total balance. Before your appointment, you will need to be prepared to pay that over the phone via credit/debit card. This deposit will ensure that your appointment is secure. If for any reason you need to change the appointment day, there must be atleast 24 hours notice or else the deposit is forfeited. Same policy goes for canceling. A refund will only be issued if cancellation is more than 24 hours before appointment.

After The Procedure

There will be a time after your procedure where you will need to avoid several things. It’s good to know these things before hand so that you are prepared.

  • Stay Out of the Sun
  • Do Not Submerge Face in Water
  • Only Use After Care Products Provided by Artist
  • No Makeup on Brows for 1.5 to 2 Weeks
  • No Sweating – Limit Workouts in First Few Days
  • Do Not Pick at the Brows

In the first week post-procedure, your brows will go through a couple phases. First, they will be very bold as the color begins to settle into the skin. Be prepared that for about 3 to 4 days after eyebrow microblading, they will most likely be darker than desired. It WILL lighten up. Have patience and do not scrub, rub or pick at the eyebrows. After the dark phase, they will get flaky. The flaking is typically minimal, but is a normal part of healing. After flaking, the brows will have lightened up significantly. Give it a full 30 days post-microblading to judge the actual color that the brows heal to. Sometimes it will be really light but after a couple weeks, the color will resurface.

Your brows will be sensitive to sunlight. Remember, it is to be treated like a wound because we have cut into the skin. Staying out of the sun is important. When you shower, do not let the water run over your face. Wash around the brows for the first week with a wash cloth. If it is constantly in moist conditions, it will not heal properly. Your artist will give you the aftercare needed to take care of your brows. You’ll need to use it faithfully for atleast a week to two weeks. Use nothing else on your brows, especially makeup. Keep them clean clean clean! But….gently. 😉

You don’t want to sweat in the brow area for the first week. Anything that can cause infection should be avoided. If you do sweat, be sure to clean them immediately after. Be very gentle when cleaning them. DAB, not RUB.

Lastly, do not pick at your brows. They will flake and itch, but you want to leave them alone. Flaking naturally is the best way to ensure nice healed results. If you pick the “scabs” off too early, you will cause more damage and scarring than necessary. It could leave a redness behind.
